Dr. Kimberly Weaks has been practicing behavioral healthcare in the correctional industry since 2002. She is instrumental in bridging the differing policies of state, facility, and correctional healthcare contractors and in meeting the quality assurance standards of each. She has trained hundreds of security, programming, and medical staff on various mental health topics and has provided numerous hours of consultation on the humane treatment of mentally ill inmates to staff. She is an expert in behavioral health and crisis intervention while delivering expertise in behavioral healthcare; cognitive-behavioral techniques; treatment of the severely mentally ill; crisis intervention; psychological evaluations; treatment planning; re-entry planning and coordination; assessment and treatment in restricted housing units; fitness-for-duty and weapons qualification evaluations for security staff; supervision of numerous facility-based behavioral health providers; and suicide prevention programming, training, and implementation.
